The light was deteriorating fast as a thunderstorm approached from the west. Twice I had to pause this pan for stretches of rain. I did get it done though, and the exposure is not as bad as I had feared it would be. Changing light can really wreak havoc on a big pan such as this. More than a few times I've had to abort a large pan and either give up entirely (as with the one I tried to shoot right after this one) or reduce it to a much smaller size to complete it (for example, see www.gigapan.org/gigapans/29662/).
