El Poder Brutal (The Brutal Power) is a monument carved out of the hillside on the road from Quito to Santo Domingo in Ecuador. The urban legend is that since there are hundreds of catholic shrines in Ecuador, the man who carved this monument felt there should be at least one monument for the dark power to help placate the other side.
