This windmill was built in 1746 by Nathan Wilbur, a Nantucket sailor who had studied Dutch mills. Volunteer millers from the Nantucket Historical Association keep the mill in operation and still grind cornmeal with it.
The style of mill is called a smock mill. Only the top or cap of the mill turns to face the wind. The main part of the building is fixed.
Technical note: as an experiment, I tried this one without image stabilization. My initial impression is that the stabilization helps. See "Nantucket Windmill 3" for comparison
