This photo was taken during maintenance at the permanent GPS station located in the Tokosha Range in Denali National Park and Preserve. This high precision GPS station is one of 140 installed in Alaska to provide data for researchers studying the forces that drive plate tectonics, which is the source of earthquake and volcanic activity. The network of Alaska GPS stations is part of the Plate Boundary Observatory (PBO), a National Science Foundation funded component of Earthscope operated by UNAVCO, Inc.
