Description

The Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle, County Durham, UK. Built in the 19th Century by John and Josephine Bowes to house a collection of artwork purchased between 1862 and 1874 amounting to over 15,000 items. Today the museum continues to display much of the collection with the Silver Swan, a musical automaton, being the Museum's icon.
