This is the old Gasworks in Seattle, on Lake Union.
This facility converted coal into 'City Gas' - which was then piped throughout town. Gasworks like this used to be a common feature in most cities, but 'Natural Gas,' which we mostly use now, has become so convenient that it drove out the alternatives.
The Gasworks has been turned into a lovely park. While I was there several wedding parties and photographers came to take pictures.
