- Description
-
Debris flow deposits crop out on the banks of Bolam Creek on the north side of Mt Shasta. Note that the boulders in the creek bank comprise a poorly sorted, matrix supported, boulder conglomerate. Some of these debris flows occured as recently as 1997. One of the boulders on the right in this image has been documented to have been deposited in the 1997 debris flow. Video exists of this debris flow event along Whitney Creek where it crosses Highway 97.
