Alejandro fue un notable pintor y escultor venezolano nacido en El Manteco, Eestado Bolívar, el 7 de marzo de 1921 y fallecido en Caracas el 13 de agosto de 1990.
En su obra se destacan piezas escultóricas de gran formato del género cinético exhibidas en Venezuela, Estados Unidos y otros países.
Otero fue el primer artista en romper con la tradición figurativa y paisajística del arte venezolano. Su trabajo, considerado como controversial en 1949, anunció la aparición de la abstracción geométrica que una década más tarde se convertiría en una símbolo nacional de sofisticación cultural y técnica.Otras Gigapans del autor

The Solar Mirror.As we crossed the portal of entry of the campus of USB are in the northern sector of the Park, the lagoon is located "Solar Mirror" sculpture by artist Alejandro Otero.
Alejandro Otero was a noted painter and sculptor born in El Manteco Venezuelan Bolivar State on March 7, 1921 and died in Caracas on August 13, 1990.
In his sculptures stand high kinetic form of gender display in Venezuela, the United States and other countries.
Otero was the first artist to break with tradition in figurative and landscape art in Venezuela. Her work, considered as controversial in 1949, announced the appearance of geometric abstraction than a decade later would become a national symbol of cultural sophistication and technique.
