The viewpoint at Mount O'Brien was created as part of Australia's Centenary of Federation in 2011.

Some of the pillars from the viewpoint are evident in this image, while some footwork managed partially to hide the remaining pillars. The towers in the middle distance (at the right of the image) are part of the local telecommunications infrastructure.
