- Description

Xedzodzoekope is a fishing village on the north shore of Lake Volta in the Afram Plains region of south-central Ghana. This is one of the 4 Ghanaian villages participating in our NSF-funded ALCCAR project.* Four villages in Tanzania round out the research venues. Xedzodzoekope (we say "Hedge") residents fish the impounded waters of the Volta for their livelihood, augmented with cassava, yams, maize, peppers, and a few other staples. Tilapia, anyone?
