Near the top of the Beartooth Highway All-American Road, US-212, in northwestern Wyoming, USA. This 360-degree panorama shows the incredible amount of snow that fell during the past winter. The highway normally opens over the last weekend in May, but didn't open this year until June 10th, due to a snowpack between 150% and 300% of normal across all the Absaroka Mountain Range.
This is the 75th anniversary of the BHAAR, opened on June 14th, 1936. This link will give you a brief history: www.beartoothhighway.com/wildRoad/wildWildWest.html
21 vertical images, taken with a Canon T2i and the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens set at 21mm, exposure 1/500 @ f/8; stitched in Photoshop CS4 and adjusted for contrast. Final TIFF image is .5059-gigapixels.
