This green patch within a hotel where I recently vacationed (Awana Genting Resort, Malaysia) contains a variety of endemic plants. Bamboos, ferns and ornamental plants. Such open air courtyards provide sunlight, fresh air and greenery to an otherwise drab setting.
Though this hotel is situated at 3000 feet above sea level and the climate is cool, the plants seen here thrive at lower altitudes and sea level, as this courtyard is sheltered.
