Close up of part of the pool shown in gigapan gigapan.org/gigapans/80039/
The Laguna de Santa Rosa is a wonderful landscape. This spot is about 8 minutes from my house. There is a highway about 45 feet behind the camera position.I think this is a particularly persistent vernal pond - a pond which tries up in the summer. We are still a bit away from the proper 'creek' channel. But during the winter this whole area, including the fence posts, can be underwater. People launch kayaks and canuoes from the little pull out where I have my car!
