- Description
-
A view of the mighty Mississippi River from the bluffs at Vicksburg. The river crested 10 days ago at 57.1 feet, and it appears to have receded about 7 or 8 feet since. The markings on the bridge piers represent clearance between the river and the bridge bottom. The black bridge is the old Hwy 80 bridge, and the silver-grey bridge is the I-20 bridge between Mississippi and Louisiana.
