This hand-held panorama was taken from downriver looking East towards the world-renowned Ponte Vecchio on the Arno River, Florence, Italy. The Ponte Vecchio ("Old Bridge") dates from 1345, in its present form. The bridge is lined on either side with opulent goldsmith shops and is a lively streetscape with buskers, performers, music, and generally festive atmosphere any time of day or night. It was the only bridge across the Arno which survived WWII. Mainly visible in this panorama is the Oltrarno shore of Florence (sometimes referred to as the Santo Spirito section).
