I'm sure this square looks great when the trees are in leaf, but I think they look really ugly as they are now. I mean, why? Did the architect think "Ah yes, this is the look we want for 6 months each year"? Architects! Tchoh! What are they like?
I'd go for some low bushes that allow you to see the architecture and purely coincidentally don't block the view for gigapanographers of all nations.
