This was opening day of the Cherry Blossom Festival. I drove in and parked at 9AM in a free, on-street, unlimited-time block near the Washington Monument. By tihe time I left three hours larter, after walking around the basin and through the Jefferson Monument, the place was teaming. Lots of little kids, lots of asian lanuages, some pretty serious wedding photos, lots of smiling face, lots of people with tripods, fancy lenses and in some cases, rolling suitcases for the gear. I use a backpack.
