This is a view facing south, from Tanjong Berlaya or Labrador Nature Reserve. The western tip of the resort island Sentosa is visible on the left of the panorama. This is the site where a large rocky outcrop once stood, called by mariners as Dragon Tooth Gate. This prominent landmark was found on maps of the Chinese adventurer Admiral Zheng He (Cheng Ho), but was destroyed by the British in 1848 to widen the entrance to the New Harbour (afterward named after Admiral Keppel). Today, this is a busy anchorage for large ships, and a critical route to the Straits of Malacca. Also seen are the petrochemical refineries offshore, an important industry for Singapore.
How many ships' names can you find?
