Since I had to walk around this place twice, I thought I would allow everyone else to take the trip with me for a third time.
There seems to be an early, not quite silent, spring going on at this park, with all the usual suspects showing up early.
In the center, an American Kestrel is eating a lizard, a monarch butterfly is enjoying the wild radish plant, while a honeybee takes in a mustard. Gulls and a couple of mute swans are gracing the lake, and the old man sage or coyote brush is ready to block the trails. There is a great western museum here (Rancho La Patera, run by the Goleta Valley Historical Society) and a nice South Coast Railroad Museum as well. stowhouse.com
