From high atop the Marin headlands, January 2011. Focus and stitching aren't great, but it's my first try. Shows the Marin headlands and landslide-prone cliffs at San Francisco. They're composed of the Franciscan melange formed in an accretionary wedge when a subduction zone existed along the California coast.

fetching snapshots...

I took these pictures with a Canon Rebel T2i, 300 mm lens, Tv (manual exposure) setting, and manual focus. Lessons learned: Next time I'll use a high manual f-stop and manual exposure. Stitching in the sky and water suffered because of the hazy light.

Welcome, Robert! If you can, I'd recommend you use manual exposure and auto-focus. It looks like your auto-exposure got fooled by dark headlands and parts of the bridge. Tom
