50,000 years ago a meteor, 150ft across crashed into the earth in now what is Northeastern Arizona, USA. The result was this crater, 4,000 feet accross and almost 600 feet deep. It is a unique Geological location on the planet and it was used to train the Apollo Astronauts for their moon missions.
It was extremely windy (45mph ) when I shot this image, I had to keep tension on the camera strap to keep the whole unit from shaking too much. The panorama is made up of 108 individual shots. Nikon Coolopix P5100, 12mp Pocket camera, GigaPan Epic 100.

Can you find the 6ft astronaut cut-out and USA Flag in the center of the crater?

I tried to do this without a Gigapan and it didn't work out as well. I remember seeing this crater as a kid so I just had to go. When I got there I couldn't believe how much they were charging just to see a hole in the ground. Hate to say, I saw it once but I'll never be returning. Too expensive.
