Dana was one of four towns lost to create the Quabbin Reservoir, source of drinking water for the City of Boston, Massachusetts, USA. Although one can find evidence of the those who had lived here throughout the Reservoir area, perhaps no where is history so alive, in your face, as at Dana Common. Dana Common has the look and feel of a typical New England Commons, except that the people, and dwellings, are all gone. Only the landscape and foundations remain. This image is copyright (c) James M. Hunt, 2010. This image was made from about nine shots, taken with a Nikon D3x, and stitched in photoshop.
