I am a real fan of the UK's Ordnance Survey (OS) 1:50000 maps. I own very many of them and am always delighted to have an excuse to get one out and pour over the wonderful details that one can find in them. I also do a bit of computer programming and in the Summer of 2009 I did some research to see if I could combine my love of maps with gigapans and this is the result. At that time I couldn't get permission to make the images public but a while ago OS relaxed their rules ...
