What attracted me to this scene is the way that Arthur's Seat (what looks like moorland in the distance, actually a long-extinct volcano) appears to come right into the city. With the image flattened like this the effect is not so obvious, but if you view the image in Google Earth you will get a better idea of what I mean. It is also odd for a resident of the UK like me - to look at something and to know that it is - or was - a volcano. You can also see the sea except that the rain closed in just as I took the relevant shots so it is difficult to make out - see snapshots.
