Halpatiokee (Seminole for “Alligator Water”) was purchased with funds from the Lands For You bond referendum and Florida Communities Trust. The 65 acre active park is surrounded by 470 acres of wetland preserve area. This image of a live oak covered with Spanish moss was taken at the edge of one of the preserve areas.
