Update: this image has been superceded by www.gigapan.org/gigapans/63936/
The view across to Devonport from The Lawns at Torpoint near Plymouth. This version is done with Stitch v. 1.1.1211 and as you can see the vignetting is much less of a problem than the AP v. 2.5 version here: www.gigapan.org/gigapans/9fe6fd1ef4ce6bddcfd35ea8d07e0395/ (The color is better in this image because I remembered to adjust the levels.)Update: there is a 360 shot form the same location here: www.gigapan.org/gigapans/64054/

That would have been good - then I would have had something to compare with the Space Shuttle launch gigapans (www.gigapan.org/gigapans/5888/ and the later www.gigapan.org/gigapans/37195/ ). Actually, there was quite a procession of naval boats both here and out in Plymouth Sound. Perhaps it is always this busy, or maybe there was some kind of event going on. The annual navy Halloween Party perhaps?

If you visit this link, tinyurl.com/HMSRichmondF239 < img src='/images/external_link.png' alt='Will open in a new tab or window' /> you will see a spectacular photo of a Harpoon Missile being launched. Just imagine if they were to have done this in Devonport while you were taking this spectacular GigaPan.
