At the Broad Street Market, vendors sell fresh produce, flowers, meats and prepared foods. Visit www.broadstreetmarket.org
for a list of vendors, directions, events and recipes.Chartered in 1860, this farmer’s market operated during the Civil War. At the time, it was literally the outskirts of Harrisburg. It became a popular gathering place for soldiers from Camp Curtin, seeking fresh produce from local farmers to supplement the often poor rations issued at the camp. It’s still a great place to stop for lunch.
