Description

Johannes is the founder of Monochrom, the group which organized the conference where I discovered studio light. So he has a lot to answer for :-)

Monochrom has a web page: www.monochrom.at Will open in a new tab or window/and Johannes has a wikipedia page: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Grenzfurthner Will open in a new tab or windowIs that enough meta data? Do I need to cut and paste something, or tell amusing anectdotes as well?

Fine. His last name, according to him, roughly translates as 'johnny ford watcher.' Someone in his family tree spent his career looking at a bit of water until something of interest occured. And then this unknown relative sprang into action, welcoming the traveler, or calling out an alarm for dangerous events.

And that reflects, in a neatly wrapped bit of metaphor, what Joahnnes does today. Watching the river (ie. culture) and creating events to welcome or warn us about what is happenening out at the Ford where things happen while we sit comfortable in our bathrobes drinking mojitos.

If he did not already have a name you could call him Kultur Grenzfurthner, or Cultie to his friends.

And If it were not already named Monochrom you could call the group CultureFordWatcher.
