- Description

Southwest of Jasper, Alberta. While I was setting up the camera, a very large iceberg calved off the Cavell Glacier and slid into the lake creating a massive wave about 15 feet high which broke the frozen surface and washed on the shore.
Despite the dangers around, many tourists still venture close to the glacier and the ice cave which is constantly subject to avalanches of rocks and ice from the Angel Glacier above.I also did a 360 degree panorama which is currently uploading.
The mountain was named after the British nurse who was executed by the Germans in WW1 for helping with the escape of British and other prisoners en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edith_Cavell
