Description

The Odgen thrust fault is a major geological structure in the Wasatch Mountains north of Salt Lake City, Utah. Look to the left and note the tan-colored rocks, then notice that they appear again in the upper middle part of the image. The sandstone layer is repeated twice because the layers were thrust up and over each other during mountain building. The thrust fault dips from left to right.
