Description

Pink Panther Cave, New Mexico, 4/24/10Photographer: Rick Hines........Lighting: Jerry Cindric, Mark Lankford, Ken Lyon We very much appreciate NM local, Phyllis Boneau, for her time guiding us on the trip. It was not a pretty morning at Texas Camp at 8000 feet when Phyllis arrived. Small pellets of snow covered the ground and the gusty wind was blowing about 40 mph. We loaded packs and gear into Marks big Ford truck and drove a short distance down a very rough four-wheel-drive-only road to the trail head. Carrying packs with vertical gear, caving gear, and camera gear we moved on down the steep trail, through a blizzard, hugging the canon wall. After two miles of snow, wind, and cactus we mercifully found the gate, unlocked it, and entered the warmth, calm, and beauty of Pink Panther. Photos were taken with a Nikon D700 and up to six Vivitar 285 slaves. Rick Hines
