The New River Bridge, off US 19 in West Virginia, was the longest steel arch bridge in the world for awhile. It's also the home of a bridge-jumping festival; There is a visitor's center with an observation deck (from which the pictures were taken). You can also climb down from there and view the river from closer up.
Years ago (before I had a cell phone), my car died in the middle of this bridge, as I was crossing in the wee hours. I had always thought that there was a nice view from this bridge. Sitting in a stationary vehicle in the middle of the bridge, I realized how much sway and motion there is in a structure like this.
