- Description
-
The breakers and surf pounds the sand and rocks of Long Beach on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Surfers and beachcombers love this place. During the winter storms, the surf waves and combers can reach 30-40 feet high and hurl the spray into the forest. This is cold water surfing with the water temperatures seldom reaching 12-14 degreesC. The combined length of Wickaninnish Bay and Schooner Cove is around 16 km. Lots of wildlife here too...black bears, cougars, wolves.
