Discovery Bay by Herrick Chow

Discovery Bay is located at the north-eastern part of the Lantau Island which is only about half an hour from the Hong Kong CBD by high speed ferry. Discovery Bay is a self-contained resort-style residential development of nearly 7 million square metres. The land has been carefully preserved for recreational and resort living purposes with a private beach for swimming and sailing of yachts. The property development there is crafted in a tranquil yet thriving environment and offers a selection of both European-style garden houses, low-rise and high-rise towers. Discovery Bay is nearby to the Disneyland and therefore captures the panoramic dazzling fireworks in the evening.

This photograph is shot from the private beach. A suite of town houses lies on the left and the main community facilities including a ferry pier, shops and restaurants all to the right of the photo. At a distant are the Disneyland Hotels – one in blue colour and the other with a brown roof. At the background is the new world second longest high-level cable-stayed bridge spanning over the Rambler Channel. This bridge is part of an express roadlink connecting New Territories and the airport.
