Kirkenes downtown by Bernt Nilsen

The picture was taken from a 54 metre high smoke stack using the GigaPan Epic Pro.
I used a Nikon D3s and a Nikon 200 mm. The picture consists of about 70 individual pictures. The result is a 540 megapixel picture.
The picture was taken during the annual trade show/fair Kirkenesdagene - www.kirkenesdagene.no / which gathers thousands of happy locals for a three day event. Both people living here now, but also people living elsewhere coming home for this event to meet old friends. Kirkenes is the centre of Sør-Varanger commune with about 10.000 inhabitants. It is the natural centre of the Barents Region located just at the Russian and Finnish border.
