A 360° panorama from the east end of Folly Beach, SC, including the Morris Island Light House.
In operation from 1876-1962, the Morris Island Light was the victim of erosion caused by jetties built to maintain the shipping lanes into the Charleston Harbor.
Save the Light, Inc. (www.savethelight.org
) took over the light and submerged property in 1999. In 2007 phase one of the restoration began and phase two was initiated in 2010.
