Description

Our camp straddled an esker that separates this classic Adirondack valley bog from Little Tupper Lake, NY. There are probably a few meters of peat under the surface here. The bog supports larch (Larix laricina), Labrador tea (Ledum groenlandicum), bog rosemary (Andromeda polifolia), leatherleaf (Chamaedaphne calyculata), blueberry (Vaccinium angustifolium), small-leaved cranberry (Vaccinium oxycoccus), and pitcher plant (Sarracenia purpurea).
