Sagrada Família Nativity Facade
The Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família or the Expiatory Church of the Holy Family"), often simply called the Sagrada Família, is a Roman Catholic church that has been under construction in Barcelona, Spain since 1882. Its expected completion date is sometime after 2026.
The church is the work Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926), who spent the last 15 years of his life on the project.
The Nativity Façade was built before the construction was interrupted in 1935 prior to the Spanish Civil War (1936-39) and thus had the most of Gaudí's direct influence in its design compared to the other facades which were built later.
When completed the church is expected to have three grand facades: the Nativity façade to the East, the Passion facade to the West and the Glory facade to the South (not yet completed).
