In the upper middle part of the photograph is the Lamma Island which is located to the southwest of the Hong Kong Island. It is within a short ferry ride from CBD. In contrast to the bustle Hong Kong Island and the Kowloon Peninsular, Lamma is peaceful and tranquil, with relatively natural scenery. It is also an extraordinary place for seafood lovers. Many expatriates like to live there. Lamma is also the home for a coal-fired power station which generates electricity for the entire population living on the Hong Kong Island. The nearby wind turbine is now increasingly becoming the landmark for the island.
The lower part of the photograph captures the high density population areas in the south of Hong Kong Island. The cluster of residential blocks at the far left is the South Horizons for the middle class, moving toward the right is the low-cost housings at Wah Fu Estate. Neighbouring to it is the Bel-air for the rich and the famous high-tech cyberport development. At mid level on the hill from Bel-air is the Baguio Villas. On top of the hill are the other residential complexes of Chi Fu Fa Yuen and the Pokfulam Gardens. There is also a small village called the Pokfulam Village near-by.
