here it is - my first 10 GPXL pano - 55r by 35c - far from being perfect. But it's important for me and probably you to learn about the issues you might face creating large panramas.

A continuation of the technical feasibility - imaging took 2 1/2 hours for 56 out of 101 steps for a 360 degree panorama.
ow I'm checking, how to speed up the procedure -

1.) taken with 400mm lens - next will be at 200mm to have fewer images i.e. around 2000
2.) 200mm lens for larger depth of field
3.) I will start earlier in the day to have more light - this one started at 7pm and sunset was just stopping me from continuing

During the image taking I had to change ISO, f-stop and eposure time to have sufficient light. The single biggest problem from my perspective is now:
the high dynamic range. I need to find a solution for that. Probably HDR imaging with exposure bracketing, then

a.) first a HDR image per panorama tile
b.) running the stitcher using the HDR images (otherwise it would be 6000 images at 200mm, which is a lot.

Specs: memory card 32 GB - images converted in camera to JPEG, because RAW would have taken too much time to write it to the memory card.

Overall - challenging, but possible. It takes quite a list of prerequisites to create a 10 GPXL panorama, but it's possible.

A final remark on the web-viewer: te perspective is just not OK - it is something spherical, but it is projected correctly, if and only if you enter the google-maps viewer.

Next panorama is for sure about quality - not size as such. Second next is quality at resoanable size.
