my second attempt that was mostly successful. if you have any suggestions on how to get rid of the bad stuff, id' be much obliged. i want to get some good ones when i go to MN next week.

First off, set exposure to manual. That will get rid of the dark or light spots. Also, use a higher f-stop, like f/8 to get the best depth of field with a manual focus setting. Choose your exposure time and ISO on a wide angle shot with high fixed aperture to get the best compromise in the light and dark areas.Your horizontal over lap numbers were lower than recommended, although it stitched well, I would maybe knock off one or two tenths of a degree in your FOV to see if you can get it greater than 30. -Dave
