Comments on Gigapan: Gypsum Veins, Summerville Cliff

  2. The cliff is composed of Jurassic Summerville Formation - interlayered shale and gypsum beds. Cutting across this are large veins of hydrothermally remobilized gypsum. On a smaller scale there are many more smaller gypsum veins cutting the entire formation.
