Comments on Gigapan: Folded Chert, Golden Gate

  2. Chert, exposed here in a roadcut, was deposited on the deep seafloor and accreted to North America as part of the Franciscan Subduction Complex. Part of the Golden Gate Bridge is also visible at the right of this GigaPan.
