This is a north-facing exposure of the Poultney Formation within the Giddings Brook Slice of the Taconic Allochthon exhibiting excellent evidence of axial cleavage, ptygmatic folding, en echelon fractures, and differential weathering. The syncline is regionally 'famous' and visited by geology departments throughout the northeast. This is my first GigaPan attempt and the light was a little off towards the end of the day but for a first attempt I'm pretty happy. I only live 10 minutes away so I'll make frequent visits over the coming year to try capture one with better lighting.
