St Mary's Lighthouse and Blyth - Just practicing with the kit 55mm lens. I need a better lens! The stitch software has messed up the top of the lighthouse too.

Thanks I will practise keeping it switched off all the time - I'm still learning the 550D and waiting for my 200mm lens to turn up...

Simon, To fix the darker band around the lighthouse, turn off the Auto Lighting Optimizer on your 550D. This can be found on p 103 of the manual. This feature tweaks the contrast on each shot and is most noticeable in a panorama along the tops of buildings. It is on by default and needs to be off when shooting panos. Dave
