Description

Under these gently rolling hills with it's pristine cattle ranches is one of the world's largest coal deposits with coal seams as thick as 550 meters. It was once proposed to build a thermal plant nearby to strip-mine the whole valley of the estimated 10 Billion tons of lignite and sub-bituminous coal.

I for one hope they never have the audacity to destroy such a beautiful valley.

In the background on the right are the towering cliffs of Marble Canyon.
