This is one of those places that's beautiful any time of the year or the day. The grey areas on the San Francisco Peaks are full of aspen, making this view in the fall particularly wonderful. The water slowly goes away during the course of the dry season but there's some water almost all the time. Lots of migrating birds, elk, herons, deer, antelope, and very few people.
