Approx 270 degrees facing west from Arthurs seat over the Salisbury Crags in the foreground, the city centre and beyond.
Canon 500D + 55-250IS@250mm, approx 1000 images shot manually on a tilt/pan tripod to just about fit on a pair of 4GB SD cards. Lower resolution (wider angle) shots used to fill in parts of foreground and to square off edges.
Stitched with Autopano pro 2 over a couple of days. Edited for to merge the layers containing the different focal lengths and to tweak layers and sharpness over a few weeks. (2 hrs to load/save!) About 5 days to upload, partially due to the huge server slowdown the 45GP dubai picture caused.

gddxb: These motorised heads are out of my budget for now. I have more patience than money. And from what i gather the sort of focal lengths you are using (i.e ~400-500mm) is getting close to the limit of precision of the consumer level motorised heads as well. I have wondered how precise manual geared heads such has the manfrotto 410 are capable of being...
