These gardens are located next to a water reservoir that serves the Washington, DC metropolitan area in Maryland. Someone had the foresight to plant hundreds of these shrubs back in the 1940's. Today they are a two week spectacle for all to enjoy.
I used a Canon EOS 7D with a 135MM lens and a GigaPan Pro tripod mounted. I took 92 frames that were bracketed +/- 2 stops and created an HDR photo using PTGUI software. The photo was lightly cropped to eliminate some fringing. It was very foggy so my standard exposure was 1/30 at ISO 400 and F11. Each frame was 10 Megapixels in size. Levels and curves were used in Photoshop.

This is most beautiful! Nice job on the HDR exposure too. I like how PtGui does this, if it could just deal with structured panoramas with featureless areas.
