Having hiked up from Lower Bass Camp (River Mile 109), where our party laid over on April 7, 2010, I shot this location to provide a view of the entrance to Shinumo Creek Rapid on the Colorado River, a delightful swimming hole on Shinumo Creek itself, and the spectacular vista from one of the Grand Canyon's largest side drainages. Shinumo Creek offered us clean drinking water (once filtered), a historic campsite to explore, my first glipse at the endangered Humpback Chub (as they nibbled at my toes), and a great hike. This GigaPan consists of 105 pics from my Canon PowerShot S5 IS. It was stitched at reduced resolution with 50% overlap to reduce the size. My fiance and I are sitting nearby, resting while the GigaPan robot performed its function.
